Quarantine Mindset

Updated: Apr 4, 2020

Remember that although we feel stuck at home, we are SAFE at home. It's all about the perspective and how we choose to see things. Life is 100% what we make it.

With that being said, I know there are several individuals suffering. Suffering from this virus. Suffering from social distancing and physical human touch. Suffering because a loved one is battling this virus. Suffering becuase of the crippling fear that comes from the great unknown and uncertaintly during this time. My prayers going out to those hurting and mourning the loss of loved ones. I pray that the medical teams have the hands to help and cure and fight this deadly virus. I pray that we take this day by day, minute by minute. I pray that we all take this seriously and stay at home to protect others. Rest in the fact that even now, He is still good. God is still good and His plans are much greater than ours.

I hope during this time, you can just be. "Be still and know that I am God." - Psalm 46:10.

Be creative, be mindful and try to be positive.

I wanted to share some ideas on what to do during this time to feel better or maybe even productive.

10 things to do during Quarantine:

1. Call and Facetime your loved ones

- Have a happy hour, chat or play a card game virtually

2. Clean our your closet, pantry and storage room

- Get rid of all your extra clothes, unnecessary items and give them away or donate them to Goodwill

3. Work-Out and move your body

- If the weather if nice, enjoy a bike ride, run or walk with the family or alone. Also, follow @livewellbeyou on instagram for some great at home work outs!

4. Journal and Write a letter to loved ones

- Journaling is a great way to capture your daily thoughts and feelings, especially in such a time as this. Send some snail mail/decorate a cute card to send to a loved one.

5. Try new recipes

- If you're like me and you love to cook and bake, now you have ample time to do so! I have already made banana bread, homemade blondies, homemade tagalongs, samoas, and next on my list are oreo cheesecake bars. YUM!

6. Read a good book

- Take some time away from electronics and pick up a good book. I am currently reading "Girl, Wash your Face" By Rachel Hollis. Such a good read. I love her style of writing. She is so real and raw.

7. Find a new hobby

- I have always wanted to learn how to play guitar and I am about to teach myself. I've heard that Youtube is a good place for that. I am borrowing a friends guitar while I attempt to pick up this new hobby of mine! What will your new hobby be?

8. RELAX

- This means something entirely different for everyone. Our day to day lives are busy, jam packed with a billion things to do but now we truly have time to be present with our loved ones and pour into our own self care routines. Take a bath, do a facial, give/recieve a partner massage.

9. Clean up your Resume

- With so much downtime, it's great time to tidy up your resume.

10. Plan for the Future

- It is tough being isolated and stuck inside. Plan for the future. Plan a night out with your friends, a trip with your partner, a coffeedate, playdate or mini vacation! Look forward to what is to come. This isn't forever. Let's all do our part to social distance and diminish this virus, one person at a time.

Peace and love,

Sades
